Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza WRAP UP #1

Hello fellow Shabby Vintage Junk enthusiasts.... :o) !!

Well the SVJ-X may have come & gone but the after effects are still being felt quite keenly by 'yours truly' as I am KA-nackered....hahahahahaha....I seriously cannot remember the last time I worked SO hard or had SO much freakin FUN....My face is sore from smiling, my throat's still aching from KACKING like a loon with my fellow Vendors....My mind is OVERFLOWING with ideas for the NEXT SHOW already in the early planning stages....!!

I would like to extend a heartfelt THANKS to the WONDERFUL group of Vendors who participated in the Show without whom it would just not have been possible....You girls ROCK BIG TIME & I appreciate your COURAGE & willingness to try something SO DIFFERENT from anything that's been done before....!!

Just to let my readers know, when I first started organising this show 8 months ago, I extended an invitation to no less than 30 Vendors....These were people I felt would be a PERFECT fit for what it was I was trying to accomplish....I didn't want booths filled with trestle tables with vintage wares laid out unimaginatively.... No....I wanted to see creativity, original ideas....I wanted to bring a new 'look' to the Vintage Scene here in Melbourne, if not Oz & I am OVERWHELMINGLY PROUD of the 9 women who stepped up to the plate to give it a go....!!

To EACH & EVERY one of our wonderful Visitors a BIG THANK YOU for coming out & supporting our Show....I LOVED meeting with you & GABBING about our mutual love of all things vintage & recycling....Man do I have some BIG SURPRISES in store for you all....!!  Speaking of which, if you attended the Show & didn't leave your details in our Visitors Register, please contact me at shabbyvintagejunk@hotmail.com so I can ENSURE you don't miss out on our 'Invitational'....!!

And a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who visited my blog & left their well wishes for a successful Show....It goes without saying (though I know it's sometimes nice to have it said) that your words helped motivate & push me along when I was starting to feel the stress....!!!!

Now I have HEAPS of pics but would you believe I have been BUSTING MY HUMP over the last couple of days trying to upload the video footage to YouTube with NO SUCCESS....I'm determined to bring this to you because it's LOTS of fun....PLUS I'm dying for you to see Mr SVJ's big fluffy balls....hahahahahaha....!!

If anyone out there has experience with uploading to YouTube & can help out, please let me know....!!

The Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza is HERE....!

Hello Shabby Vintage Junkin' Friends....!

It's just on 4.30am here & I am about to head back down to the Ashburton Scout Hall for some last minute 'tweaking' prior to the doors opening at 8am for the inaugural SVJ-Extravaganza....!

I'm afraid it was all work & NO photos for me yesterday during set up but I hope to be back tonight with a clip for Youtube of the hall & all our Treasures....!

All our Vendors have worked extremely hard & I am PROUD of the standard we've achieved....The Hall looks BRILLIANT....Our visitors are going to be VERY impressed....!!

If you 're in Melbourne we'd LOVE to see you....!!

4 Days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza: Vendor Profile - The Pink Poodle

WOW....Can you believe there are just 4 x SLEEPS TO GO the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza launches into the Vintagesphere....Well maybe 4 x sleeps for our lovely Customers however, from the emails & phone calls I've received today....It's unlikely our Vendors will enjoy THAT many sleeps....hahahahaha....Yes indeed we're all FLAT OUT LIKE LIZARDS DRINKIN' creating some Vintage Magic & sleep....??  Well lets just say sleeps a luxury we can indulge in after....  :o) !!

Now I know your ITCHING to meet some more of our SVJ Vendors so without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to Andrea from The Pink Poodle....!!

I received an email one evening months ago from the LOVELY Alicia from Time Worn Style with Andrea's details simply advising if I was still looking for Vendors for the SVJ-X, Andrea would be a PERFECT fit....!!

I called Andrea & we arranged to meet & I knew as soon as I opened the door & saw her smiling face we were going to get along like a house on fire....A few minutes into our meeting, I was mentally HUGGING Alicia for sending Andrea my way....!!

Having owned & operated her own Gift & Homewares store for many years, Andrea has an obvious flare for display, enjoying the creative process involved in creating visually interesting & beautiful vignettes....!

With an interest rooted in textiles, Andrea enjoys upcycling laces & trims & LOVES experimenting with dyes....Having visited Andrea's home & seeing her pieces up close, I know her Customers will adore her work....!!

Now I've popped into Andrea's YUMMY blog & NICKED some of my FAVE pics for you to enjoy all of which will be available at the SVJ-X....!

Yayyyyyy Junk Friends EVERYWHERE....!!

I hope you've all had an AWESOME weekend filled with loved ones & TREASURES....!!

NO MARKET again for me today....Alas, I sat in one spot almost the ENTIRE day working on a special surprise for our SVJ-X Customers....Not quite finished but I'm getting there....!

Now I HAD intended on continuing with my Vendor Intros tonight but I've been a bit distracted today....So rather than do a 'shoddy' job, I'll start again tomorrow when my minds a little clearer....!

In the mean time....Until clarity returns, I wanted to share a recent find with you....These 4 x cameras were purchased as a lot & there's a couple of beauties that may be worth a bit which is pretty cool considering my small outlay....!!

Unfortunately, it was overcast here in Melbourne yesterday so please forgive my horrid pics....!

Aren't they HANDSOME....!!  There's a 1950's Voigtlander BESSA I with Case, a Houghton Butcher 10 Ensign Carbine Bellows camera, a Brownie & a Polaroid....!

Well I must away....I'll be back tomorrow....!!

6 Days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....!

HOLY CRAP....There's ONLY 6 days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....!!  With ONLY this weekend to finalise preparations I am SERIOUSLY under the pump....!!

I will continue with Vendor Intros this evening but in the mean time, I wanted to show you these GORGEOUS Terriers my BFF Wendy form Bonnie Doon made for the Show....!!

Inspired by my collection of Terriers, Wendy started making these little fellows by hand using vintage elements, blankets, ribbon, buttons you name it....!  Each one takes hours to put together & I just know they're gonna be a BIG HIT with our visitors....!!

This big fellow is my FAVE....!  Very VERY Cath Kidston doncha think....!!

Look at all those little moosh mouths....

Sweet little handstitched noses....!

THANK YOU for sending these up Wendy....I LOVE THEM & so will my Customers I'm sure....!!
