Build it....And they will come....Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....A Vintage Show in the making....!

Hello Fellow Vintage Lovers EVERYWHERE....! I trust this post finds you all safe & well following the Easter break....!! Mr SVJ & I have been flat out like lizards drinking over the last few days building my set for the upcoming Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....Full details of which will be advised this week once the Vendor line up has been finalised....!!!!! I'm PLEASED to say, 95% of the materials used were salvaged from the Hard Rubbish.....Aside from these FABULOUS posts....I bought these from a salvage center some time ago intending to use them as table legs....For the time being though, they make a WONDERFUL entrance....!Mr SVJ's face was as DARK as THUNDER when this pic was taken so probably BEST you can't see it....You'd think he'd KNOW after all this time I change my mind....A LOT....hahahahahaha....!!Speaking of which....Here's that piece of galvanised tin I lugged home last week....! Well I must away....Gotta go see a man about a dog....For my International Friends that's Aussie for "I'm off to do something I probably shouldn't share for fear of incriminating myself....hahahahahaha....!!!" Cheers for now,Tamarah  :o)
 

The Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza is HERE....!

Hello Shabby Vintage Junkin' Friends....!

It's just on 4.30am here & I am about to head back down to the Ashburton Scout Hall for some last minute 'tweaking' prior to the doors opening at 8am for the inaugural SVJ-Extravaganza....!

I'm afraid it was all work & NO photos for me yesterday during set up but I hope to be back tonight with a clip for Youtube of the hall & all our Treasures....!

All our Vendors have worked extremely hard & I am PROUD of the standard we've achieved....The Hall looks BRILLIANT....Our visitors are going to be VERY impressed....!!

If you 're in Melbourne we'd LOVE to see you....!!

Yayyyyyy Junk Friends EVERYWHERE....!!

I hope you've all had an AWESOME weekend filled with loved ones & TREASURES....!!

NO MARKET again for me today....Alas, I sat in one spot almost the ENTIRE day working on a special surprise for our SVJ-X Customers....Not quite finished but I'm getting there....!

Now I HAD intended on continuing with my Vendor Intros tonight but I've been a bit distracted today....So rather than do a 'shoddy' job, I'll start again tomorrow when my minds a little clearer....!

In the mean time....Until clarity returns, I wanted to share a recent find with you....These 4 x cameras were purchased as a lot & there's a couple of beauties that may be worth a bit which is pretty cool considering my small outlay....!!

Unfortunately, it was overcast here in Melbourne yesterday so please forgive my horrid pics....!

Aren't they HANDSOME....!!  There's a 1950's Voigtlander BESSA I with Case, a Houghton Butcher 10 Ensign Carbine Bellows camera, a Brownie & a Polaroid....!

Well I must away....I'll be back tomorrow....!!

6 Days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....!

HOLY CRAP....There's ONLY 6 days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....!!  With ONLY this weekend to finalise preparations I am SERIOUSLY under the pump....!!

I will continue with Vendor Intros this evening but in the mean time, I wanted to show you these GORGEOUS Terriers my BFF Wendy form Bonnie Doon made for the Show....!!

Inspired by my collection of Terriers, Wendy started making these little fellows by hand using vintage elements, blankets, ribbon, buttons you name it....!  Each one takes hours to put together & I just know they're gonna be a BIG HIT with our visitors....!!

This big fellow is my FAVE....!  Very VERY Cath Kidston doncha think....!!

Look at all those little moosh mouths....

Sweet little handstitched noses....!

THANK YOU for sending these up Wendy....I LOVE THEM & so will my Customers I'm sure....!!

Hello Shabby Vintage Junking Friends....!

I hope this post finds you all well & enjoying a weekend FILLED with Treasures from the past....!!

I'm PLEASED to advise a FABULOUS article featuring our home (aka the house that SVJ built), can be seen in todays Herald Sun HOME lift out....I've had several calls already this morning with one lovely lady asking if this event is going to be a sale....My answer to that is a resounding YOU BETCHA....A group of my VERY talented Shabby Vintage Junk buddies will be showcasing their wares in a way I don't believe has been seen before in Australia....You are in for a VISUAL FEAST....Think of your FAVE design book or vintage shop window that you have oohed & ahhed over....THAT's what I'm talkin' about....  :o) !!

My stall in particular will look not unlike the pictures shown in the Herald Sun article....!!

As always, I'm 'on the fly' so will leave you with a few pics of pieces we've put the finishing touches on this mornning....!!

The DIVINE patina on this tool box has been ENHANCED with a coat of poly....!!

100 years of life has left this STUNNING piece of craftmanship with a GLORIOUS finish....

TO FREAKIN DIE FOR....

Reconstruction saved this baby from the scrap pile & several coats of paint has helped show of this BEAUTIES fine lines....The hardware has been left as found....G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S....!!

PERFECT for the bedroom, office laundry....ANY room in the house really....  :o) !!

** sigh ** wish I could KEEP them all....!!!
