8 Days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza: Vendor Profile - Hunted & Collected

 OK....Things are ampin' up around here with just 8 days to go until the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza kicks off & I'm juggling a gazillion projects hence my late post tonight....!!

It's with great pleasure I introduce to you my Friend, Callie from Hunted & Collected....!!  Callie & I met through a mutual Friend at the Market last year & have shared some MEMORABLE Junkin' adventures in the short time we've known each other.  Having shared a booth at both Friars Town & Maldon already this year, Callie & I are quite the Odd Couple....By that I mean, Callie is quite refined in her mannerisms & speech while I'm quite the bogan & have been mistaken on occasion for a 'sailor'....hahahahahaha....!

Having seen Callie in action before I can tell you now her booth is gonna ROCK....!

Specialising in Vintage Costume Jewellery, Callie has an AMAZING knack for combining her pieces with rustic, industrial furniture & homewares....EVERY time I see a display Callie's put together I turn a darker shade of green....I tell ya...The girl's got TALENT....!!

One of the things I admire about Callie is her genuine love for the pieces she sells & her extensive knowledge....I find listening to Callie talk about Costume Jewellery enthralling & her passion for her pieces is 'catching'....For example....I NEVER knew I would be interested in Vintage Wooden & Bakelite Jewellery....A few nights in a cabin with Callie in Castlemaine & I was HOOKED....I have a LOVELY collection of my own coming along....THANKS Callie....!!

Speaking of collections, I'm afraid I was quite SHAMELESS when I snuck into Callie's website Hunted & Collected & nicked all these pics....They're ALL pieces I want for myself however, they're really not an adequate representation of Callie's Treasures so I suggest you pop in & see for yourself....!!

So here we are with just 9 days to go until the inaugural Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza launches into the Vintage World on Friday 13th August at the Ashburton Scout Hall in High Street, Ashburton at 8am.

Continuing with our Vendor introductions I'd like you to meet the LOVELY Alicia from Time Worn Style.  Alicia & I met through eBay YEARS ago & I'm pleased to say, I have been the lucky winner of some GORGEOUS time*worn*style pieces....My ABSOLUTE FAVE being a TO DIE FOR Vintage Wedding Cake Topper I'll cherish forever....!! 

A talented artist, Alicia's home & surrounding gardens provides the perfect inspiration for her creative spirit & the great bones of 'Greystanes' allows Alicia to indulge in her love of interior design.....!

At this moment in time, I'd describe Alicia's style as being a mix of Indrustrial meets Romantic....But you can judge for yourself....The following pics have been borrowed straight from Alicia's blog....!!

10 Days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza: Vendor Profile - Shoestring Splendour

Hello fellow Junkers....!

There are now just 10 days to go until the inaugural Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza kicks off on Friday 13th August at the Ashburton Scout Hall in High Street, Ashburton at 8am.

I thought it would be a great idea to count down the remaining days by introducing you to our FABULOUS Vendors....!

In no particular order other than starting with the Vendors who have their own blogs, websites &/or eBay profiles, I'd like to start with Samantha from Shoestring Splendour.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sam through a mutual friend some 10 years ago at the market & have enjoyed many early Sunday morning 'show & tell' sessions with her where we've enthusiastically shared the Treasures we've found....!

Sam's eBay store, shoestring_splendour is a FAVE amongst the Shabby enthusiates who frequent eBay for pretty & eclectic Vintage Treasures so if you're after something exquisite, romantic, glamorous or pretty, make sure you drop in for a peek....!  Her vintage tins, jewelled clocks, purses & trinkets are TO DIE FOR....!!

I was absolutely THRILLED when Sam FINALLY launched her own blog on April 3rd this year & have snaffled (stolen) some of her DIVINE pics to share with you....!!

I WISH my office was as pretty....AND organised....!

Thou shalt not covet thy Friends Treasures....hahahahahaha....

During our Vendor Meeting a couple of months ago one of the stand out moments for me came from Sam when she described how the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza would give her an opportunity to move out from behind the screen for some one on one contact with her buyers....Having been a Seller on eBay for so long, Sam is REALLY looking forward to meeting you so when you pop into her booth, be ready for a GREAT BIG SMILE....!!

Now a few words from Sam:

"Having been an avid second hand queen for many, many years & enduring much teasing from my "only new will do" family and friends, I finally feel like I have hit my stride furnishing my home with charm & character. At last, my cherished pieces are considered CHIC!! YAY!!! I love to spend any free time treasure hunting at markets, op shops & antique stores. A busy mum of three teenagers, I help out doing the books for my hubbys business squeezing ME time in between. My favouirte time of the week is Sunday morning when I hit the flea market.

Born in England, I feel this has influenced my taste in decor which is a cross between shabby chic & french/english vintage design. Nothing appeals to me more than soft colours and faded florals.

For the SVJ-X I have put together an eclectic mix of lovely vintage items. On my stall you will find only pieces I would be happy to include in my home while some pieces are indeed old favourites. Think classic English floral furniture, pretty 50's scrolly white pieces and lots of lovely floral pictures. Throw in some rustic French....A little bling in the form of Rhinestone brooches, some GORGEOUS antique EPNS pieces and so much more.

I can't wait for SVJ-X so I can meet lots of other vintage queens, put names to faces of my ebay friends and have an absolute blast."

Hello Junker Friends....!

I'm pleased....NO....CHUFFED....Ahh....No...PROUD AS PUNCH to advise the GORGEOUS Angela over at the incredibly FUNKY Bounty Huntress has bestowed upon this little ole blog of mine the "This Blog is Charming" award....WOOHOO....!!

If you haven't had the pleasure of 'falling into' Angela's blog before PLEASE do yourself a favour & pop in for a visit....I so look forward to seeing a new post from this WONDERFUL blogger & reading her Treasure Hunting stories makes me SMILE out loud....!!  Angela even has a YUMMY Etsy shop where she GENEROUSLY shares her Treasures with her readers so if you're after a special piece, you might just find it at the Bounty Huntress....!!

Now the rules are I have to share a few things about myself so BUCKLE UP Junkers for I have NO SHAME....hahahahahahaSNORT....JARST kidding....  :o) !!

Ok ok....So you already know I have a big CRUSH on Stephen Dorf, suffer from a rare form of OCD (of the peg & cracks in pavement & straight pictures variety), was a gymnast in my younger years, have SCARY hiccups & sneezes, snort when I laugh, ADORE Elvis, LOATHE winter, I've been to France but NOT to Paris, Skydived my youth away, am FANATICAL about my early morning exercise, boogers make me dry retch AND I'm going to THE JUNK BONANZA for the FIRST time THIS September....But I bet you didn't know....

1/   My almost FAVOURITE food in the world is....Biscuits & Gravy....I KID YOU NOT....I reckon the BEST place to indulge in this REMARKABLE meal is ANY IHOP you can find....Love love LOVE their coffee too....!!

NB: After returning from my last visit to the US, Mr SVJ surprised me by producing an ALMOST perfect Biscuit & Gravy breakfast for me....He was in the 'good books' for close on to a week after that effort....hahahahahaha....!!

2/  While we're talkin' calories....My ALL TIME FAVE meal (of the dinner variety) can be found at the Cracker Barrel:  Southern fried chicken steak, fried okra, mashed spuds, white gravy & CORN BREAD....** sigh **

3/  I lived in Texas for 6 months back in 1995 & have a GINORMOUS soft spot for the Lone Star state....!!  This is where I developed my fondness for numbers 1 & 2....  :o) !!

4/  I fantasize regularly about buying run down homes in the country & renovating them 'gently' into the 21st century....I'd furnish them tastefully with my Treasures & rent them out to city folk wanting to experience country life albeit, in short bursts....The aforementioned Treasures would be available for sale so if my visitors wanted a memento of their stay, they could take their FAVE piece home with them....  :o) !!

5/  I am a HUGE Star Trek fan....Trekker please....NO Trekkies here....hahahahaha....My loyalties lie with the Next Generation though which in turn introduced me to the original movies....My FAVE character is Jean Luc Picard....Or maybe that's because I have a BIG CRUSH on Patrick Stewart....I mean....Have you LISTENED ot that mans voice....** purrrrrrrrrr **....hahahahahahaSNORT....!!

Ok....Funs over & I need to pass this award on to two CHARMING BLOGS....I'd LOVE it if you could take a moment to pop in & say hi to these SWEET Aussie blog Friends....!!

Tamara over at A Treasured Past is a girl after my own heart....Tamara started her blog on the 12th July & had me at, "We are slowly renovating our 1920's home....."  Her eclectic Treasures have me looking forward to each new post & I'm itching to go to the Queanbeyan Swap Meet with her NEXT year....!!!

Alison from Hill & Vale Designs has not long returned with her family to Melbourne from Perth....Her GORGEOUS girls will melt your heart & her passion for vintage & crafts will keep you coming back for more....We BOTH love vintage sheets & crafts of the knitted & crotched variety....I think Alison's tastes are a little more refined than mine though....!!

Where did the weekend go....? 12 Days to the SVJ- EXTRAVAGANZA....!!

Hello Junking Friends EVERYWHERE....  :o) !!

I hope this post finds you all safe & sound & up to your EYEBALLS in the good stuff....!!  I'm sitting here in bed covered in white paint....It's in my hair, on my face, arms & under my nails....The palms of both hands feel rough from having used sandpaper & metho this weekend & I have three splinters requiring extraction....!!

Now I'm NOT havin' a sook mind 'cause I really do see my grubby tired state as a GOOD sign that I've been PRODUCTIVE....hahahahahahaha....Wasn't SURE if this would be the case though considering I was 'talking' to the LOVELY Gina at Vintage Junk In My Trunk this morning about being 'imobilised by fear' at the amount of work I had in front of me to get ready for the SVJ-X when she asked what time it was....I replied I was embarrassed to say it was JUST AFTER 10am....In my defence though....I DID crawl into bed around 3am after working through the night on some AWESOME projects & with ONLY 12 days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza this is likely to be a pattern repeated over & over until the BIG DAY....

Needless to say....NO MARKET for me AGAIN (that's two weeks in a row now) today so no NEW Treasures however, I have a selection of goodies I've been meaning to share with you for some time....!  I found all of these lovely items the day the Progress Leader newspaper came to visit camp SVJ to photograph our home & you can view the feature here....After Bianca & Josie had left, I headed off for some R&R (thRifting & haRd rubbish) & these are my finds.....!!

Another vintage calf skin purse...I NEVER pass these up when they cross my path....!!

I RARELY find nice vintage tins in the op-shops these days so this little gem was a TREAT for sure....!!

Sweet Crinoline lady tablecloth....I know my blog buddy Tamara at A Treasured Past might have liked to have found this one....!

And I NEVER EVER pass up vintage cotton sheets....I share a fondness for these PEARLS with another blog buddy, Alison over at Hill & Vale Designs....!

WOO-FREAKIN-HOOHA....Vintage ledgers NEVER used....I almost had an ACEEDENT when I spied these beauties in a local op-shop....Snapped them up faster than you can say, 'stick a needle in your eye'....hahahahahahaSNORT....!!

Do you recognise this BEAUTY....This was one of those RARE HR finds that didn't require 10+ hours of restoration....!!

Just some work done to the top, a light sand to remove oil a GOOD clean & some wax....!!

Okeydokey....That's IT for me this weekend....My reader's telling me I have 90+ posts to read so I best get busy....!!
