US Shipment....The TIP of the ICEBERG....!!

Hello Vintage Enthusiasts....!

Just popping in quickly to THANK YOU for your comments yesterday....Unfortunately, I wont be able to pop in & visit with you until I get the mammoth task of unpacking, cleaning & pricing behind me....When I think back to the 20+ hours straight I packed to get this lot back home, I can't believe I thought the hard part was behind me....hahahahaha....Funny how a delirious state of mind manufactures misguided confidence to get you through a stressful situation....hmmmmm....**wink**....!

Anyways....I cant stand at the kitchen bench all day nattering on....Below are a FEW pics of SOME of the teeny tinies (small SMALLS) & a 3ft metal prescription box (3 x separate pieces) that were closest to the back door just now when I grabbed my iPhone....

Oh YES....Before I go....STAY TUNED for further posts where I'll be announcing WHEN & WHERE these Treasures will make their way into my Glen Waverley & Vintage Shed spaces as well as FABULOUS DISCOUNTS & OFFERS....!!!!!

This piece will be VERY HARD to part with....It makes me SMILE very widely EVERY time I look at it....!
3ft+ of SEXY INDUSTRIAL....DELICIOUSNESS....!!!!!
HUNDREDS of GORGEOUS glass jars, bottles & creamers....Love....LOVE...L.O.V.E....
Lots & LOTS of cleaning here though....**sigh**....!!
These Victorian blocks are in BEAUTIFUL condition & are absolutely STUNNING....The Donkey at the top is going off to a couple of Friends....
Tiny Treasures galore....
Late 1960's - early 1970's coke crates, red & green metal sap buckets & wooden drawers filled with metal zippers & trims in their original packets....!
These 29 sheets of ply are TOTALLY UNRELATED to the above Treasures but will ultimately HOUSE a great number of them....A few weeks ago Mr SVJ was kind enough to erect the framework for my walls at the Glen Waverley Bazaar & these sheets are the intended cladding....Wait to you see how these boring bits look when we get the router onto them....**wink**....!!

Cheers,

US Shipment FINALLY arrives....!!

Hello Vintage Friends near & FAR....!

It's been a while I know but I've been with you in junking spirit if not in the 'virtual' sense....!!  I hope this quick update finds you all well & HAPPY....!!!!!

Yesterday was a VERY busy day....This in & of itself is nothing new in my little SVJ world however, the combination of 'activities' undertaken was a little....Different....!!

Firstly, I headed into the city to pick up a van load of Treasures which I'll be selling in my Vintage Shed & Glen Waverley Bazaar spaces shortly....

One of many small furniture pieces....Isn't the patina on this stool TO DIE FOR....!!
After making it back home & unloading, I scooted around the corner where a 1950's weatherboard was being demolished to meet with the Wrecker to discuss salvaging particular materials....An agreement was reached & I'm pleased to say I now have an ongoing source of architectural supplies....Alas....I really wanted a go on the $300,000.00 Komatsu but the Wrecker & I are not quite 'there' yet....hahahahaha....**wink**....!!!!!
I then headed back into the city where I met with Mr SVJ at this massive warehouse to collect my shipment of US Treasures which arrived late last week....!!

Alas....I had a GREAT pic of the pallets to pique your curiosity however, I was unable to edit out my home address which was emblazoned across each & every one of my boxes for all the world to see....!!!

Watch this space though as I'll be back VERY SOON to give you a sneak preview of some of the Treasures before they head into my spaces....!!!!!

Cheers for now,
Tamarah :o)

Shane's Espresso Cart comes to the Glen Waverley (Antiques & Collectables) Bazaar....WOOHOO....!!!!!

Greetings Seekers Of The Past....!!

I have FANFREAKINFABULOUS news....As if there weren't sufficient reason already (with 170 dealers & hundreds of thousands of individual Vintage Treasures) to come visit us at the Glen Waverley (Antiques & Collectables) Bazaar....We now have tea, coffee & snack facilities to enjoy in the form of the A.W.E.S.O.M.E 'Shane's Espresso Cart'....!!!!!

And let me tell you....Having sampled the coffee & snacks....I can GUARANTEE you are in for a TREAT....!!!!!

Those of you who know me well KNOW I am a COFFEE HO....Rarely seen without a cup of Joe in hand I am VERY particular about my coffee so I wouldn't be putting my coffee drinking reputation on the line by sprouting the DELICIOUSNESS of a coffee it weren't in fact....DE-FREAKINLICIOUS....!!!!!!!!!!!

See....You KNOW I'm keen when my punctuation which is generally quite manic, kicks into OVERDRIVE & I can't help but !!!!! all over the place....!!

The cart is is situated inside the Bazaar down the back corner....Right next to two of my FAVE Vendors....Nicole from Milkbar Vintage & the GORGEOUS Shelley, in a generous size booth space where Visitors & Stall Holders can sit a spell & rest up from Treasure Hunting & frantic re-stocking & BOOTH FOOFING....!!

The very SWEET (& not at all hard on the eyes) Daniel tells me Shane also has a cafe / restaurant in Ferntree Gully by the same name, so keep this on your radar while you're in the area so you can pop in say HEY....!!

The LOVELY Daniel is more than happy to make your coffee ANY way you like it....!!
And with reasonable prices ranging from $3.50 for a small cup to $4.50 for a large....You can afford to indulge your LOVE of a good cappuccino....Or TWO....!!
These freshly made sandwhiches are D.I.V.I.N.E & are all you need to give you the energy to work or PLAY while you're visiting the centre....
Or....If you're the hungry type....There are YUMMY cookies & muffins to indulge in....!!

So there you have it....Yet another FANFREAKINFABULOUS reason to come & visit with us at the Glen Waverley (Antiques & Collectables) Bazaar....!!

Oh yes & don't forget....We're open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm With new stock arriving EACH & EVERY day....WOOHOO....!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,
Tamarah  :o)

Spend time where you're gonna make the most money....

....Advice given to me by some of the BEST in the business & for the most part....Advice I keep first & foremost in mind when engaging in most activities relating to my business....With the exception of my hand made price tags that is....!!

I've been making these beauties for a while now....First having appeared at the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza & then at my space at The Vintage Shed down at Tyabb & soon to be a regular feature at the Glen Waverley Antiques & Collectibles Bazaar....!

They take HOURS to make....And yesterday I made 500 of the buggers....Today my thighs are ACHING like they've never seen action before....All that squatting....Up a bit....Waddle to the side as I moved through the process out on the back deck....Dip....Dip....Flick....Flick....and....Tweak....

Although time consuming, it's a process I enjoy as it allows me to 'switch off' a little & gather my thoughts....
With every ticket there's a smooth side....
And a rough side....And as long as I've been making them I haven't been able to work out what it is that I do that makes it this way....!!
Once the tickets are made I hand stamp them 4 times each....Mr SVJ says I should have a stamp made but that just wouldn't be cricket....
Although the stamp pad I use is only a couple of years old, I source my ink from the hard rubbish....I have another 6 vintage bottles of ink waiting their turn....And of course, my stamps are at least 70 years old....!!
SVJ goes on the rough side while the price & description go on the smooth side....I should be able to finish stamping them when we get home from dinner tonight but if I don't that's OK....I have a LARGE supply of stamped tickets ready to go....!!

What activities do you choose to undertake as a small business owner that could be reduced via electronic means or other 'modern shortcuts'....I'd be interested in hearing about them....!!

I hope everyone's having a FABULOUS week...!!

Cheers for now,
Tamarah  :o)

The end of an era....

Goodbye....
Farewell....
Auf Wiedersehn....
Adieu....

One of my all time FAVE councils here in Melbourne has CEASED it's bi-annual hard waste collection service....**sigh**....I've SHOPPED the hard rubbish in this area for 12 years....Yep....TWENTYFOUR individual collections I've been out there very active in my role as KEEPER OF THE PAST....Picking up the forlorn & forgotten Treasures....Passing them on to others who appreciate the whispers of the past as much as I do....

Now residents within this council have the option of calling the council directly twice a year to have their household goods collected....When the goods are collected now they will be CRUSHED & go into landfill without someone like myself coming along & saving pieces....!!!!!

I hope everyone's having a GREAT week....!!

Cheers for now,
Tamarah  :o)
