HAPPY MONDAY Shabby Vintage Junkers EVERYWHERE....!!

Good Morning Friends....!!

I hope this note finds everyone relaxed following the weekend break....!! I'm afraid my 48 was quite hectic....So much so that I was too pooped to post last night falling into bed at 8.30pm....!

My reader is FULL of exciting posts from all my FAVE bloggers which I'm ITCHING to investigate alas, they will have to wait until I return home from work this evening.... ** sigh ** PESKY day job....hahahahaha....!

Speaking of work, yesterday was my day to share a stall with my Friend Lyn at the Market so I was up at 3am to get ready, get to the Market & unload & move my car to the vendor parking area in order to be out of Lyn's way when she arrived....!!  This was all said & done by 4.30am which meant I had several hours to run around shopping until I needed to be back at the stall to open up....Funnily enough, I didn't find ANY Treasures until almost 7.30am when I was heading back to the stall....!

Now this YUMMY perfectly chippy red metal fire hose cupboard was found on the side of the road on Saturday afternoon....It had RED BACK spiders all over the back of it.....yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....HATE those things....For my US readers, these spiders are thought to be related to the Black Widow & the female has a NASTY bite to contend with....

Mr SVJ is going to help me put a couple of shelves in this piece & of course it needs a GOOD clean & after a spray with poly it will look DELICIOUS....!!!

There she is....NASTY little BE-ATCH....!!!

Moving along....For your viewing pleasure are the smalls from the weekend....Aren't they PERTY....hahahahaha....  :o)

Sweet little Apprentice tool tray & red & white Willow tin....BOTH found on the side of the road....LOVE vintage Willow & haven't seen this particular pattern before & of course being RED I couldn't leave it behind....!

Galvanised BEAUTY....I've not seen a galvanised basin before so I was HAPPY to find this at the Market yesterday....And the gavalnised basket originally from Authurs Dairy, was found in the HR on Saturday....  :o) !!!

Sexy SEXY galvanised basin....

TO FREAKIN DIE FOR Florentine lamp base....I found one of these ten years ago at the Market so when I stumbled upon this one yesterday I was OVERJOYED....Now I have TWO in this shape & style....WOOHOO for me....hahahahaha....!!!

The patina on these two wood pieces makes my heart ACHE....Just SENBLOODYSATIONAL....They're old hat block pieces & will be GORGEOUS as display pieces at the upcoming Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza....!!

The spool is another AWESOME piece & is currently home to some very fine copper thread....LOVE the scone/bicky/donut cutter thing & the whisk & the hearth brush are VERY droolworthy....!!

Love love L-O-V-E this industrial light fitting....And the rope is for Mr SVJ to use in a new cat scratching post for those little vandals, Baxter & Harley who have RUINED their old one....!!

Well I must be off....The walk to the station awaits....!

I hope you all had a HAPPY & SAFE weekend & I look forward to catching up with your adventures tonight....!!!

Tamarah :o)

  4. Oooh LOVING the Florentine Lamp base..had the pleasure of seeing it for REAL when you showed me your finds and though it looks sooo good in the pics its even MORE beautiful up close in the flesh so to speak. Also loving the spider infested fire hose cupboard. Would be ACE in a laundry fitted with shelves to store all those not so pretty neccessaries!! Great Finds gonna blog mine this arvo.

  5. Loving it all as usual Tamarah!! I adore the galvanised basin and the wire basket, you lucky lady! Hope you have a wonderful week ~ Tina xx

  6. Tamarah, what a great stash. I love that industrial light fixture. I have just been looking at them at Barn Light Electric. And the apprentice tool box is wonderful.

Have a great week and thanks for showing us your Bits.

  7. You have had a busy weekend Tamarah! You make me sound positively slothful! I rolled out of bed at 10.30 yesterday and today, ok so I am sick but still 4.30am? Mind you, if I could find some of that great stuff I could be persuaded to get up that early! xx

  8. Tamarah I love the galvanized pieces and the industrial light is something I am on the look out far...overall good haul! Lezlee

  9. Tamarah great pieces. Which market did you and Lyn have a stall at?
Looking forward to your Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza, hope to be able to get there.

  10. Some fab finds as usual. Love the apprentice tool box, spool, hat stands .... okay love it all! Have a great week. Michelle

  11. Love that florentine lampbase. I have a chandelier I snagged a few years ago with the same hand painted flowers and finish. One of my favourite pieces!

  12. You amaze me every freakin' week. How DO you do it?!?! And how in the heck did you fight off those nasty be-otch spiders?

  13. Hi Tamarah,
I can't believe the fab stuff people throw out on the curb! Does this strange phenomenon occur all year or only at certain times? Here in Utah we have our bi-anual Spring and Fall clean-up when you can put things out on the curb for the city to haul away. Other than that it's illegal.

Anyhoo...great finds, as usual. Have fun at the day job this week!

Love your blog and religiously check back every Sunday. Your Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza sound fab!

    Tamara without the h :)

  15. Hello Tamarah, Is it any wonder that you are tired. I'm worn out just reading about what you get up to. You find that extra bit of energy that the rest of us lack. I do hope that your energy keeps up, as your blog and junk have become an obsession for me. You do all of the work and I watch from afar.
    You're the best!!!

  16. GOOD LORD TAMARAH....what a fabulous lot of finds over the weekend..

I still do NOT know how you manage to find such gorgeous JUNK!!

BUT hey...being an arachnaphobic (is that how you spell it)?? ..OMG OMG..I hope you have fumigated your van...
I hope some little insey winsey mongrel redback hasnt crawled into your van??

(remind me to tell you the story of the huntsman spider which secretly crawled out from behind my steering wheel when driving MR C to school some years ago..!!)...I nearly drove right OFF the westgate!!

& ps...thanks for being polite...BUT I LOOKED anything BUT ladylike doing you know what in hubbys car!!!

    ps...I am starting to PANIC!!!~~~~~

    xx andrea

  17. Hi Tamarah! sorry for not being around so's a BUSY period! Plus 2 days ago we went to he hospital because my little Sofia felt down and hurted her much panic, but now she is OK!
How incredible finds!!! How can you always find so much beautiful things?! I love the base lamp and the tool tray.....mmm I can see it painted white and with flowers in it!!!

  18. WOW! You sure find the best Treasures!
I love them all! Specially the galvanized baby bath.

  19. Your story had me laughing. I guess as thrifters we just run into everything including spiders. I had my hand about 6 inches away from a black widow without realizing it while I was moving a table. After I discovered it I nearly had to take a shower to get that creepy feeling off me. Great finds though despite the spiders.

  20. Totally digging that fire hose cabinet! What a great find!!

  21. Tamarah you inspire me you do. I love all your finds. Can also identify with getting up at 3am. We did a stall at Chirk Carboot last Sunday. We were up and ready to go by 3.30 am which you have to be if you want any sort of a decent pitch! Thank you for another great post.

  22. Just found you!! The terriers reeled me in!!
    Love your blog!

  23. Hi, I have just discovered your blog - via Vintage Rescue Squad. I was cruising through past posts, reading happily, when I spotted your post about the Fryerstown -OMG - I visited your stall - just loved it! The bottomless birdcage came to live with me. It lives on my dining table and my boys just had to see if their younger brother fitted into it - he did.
    How spooky!

  24. Morning Tamarah,
