I hope this post finds you all safe & sound & up to your EYEBALLS in the good stuff....!! I'm sitting here in bed covered in white paint....It's in my hair, on my face, arms & under my nails....The palms of both hands feel rough from having used sandpaper & metho this weekend & I have three splinters requiring extraction....!!
Now I'm NOT havin' a sook mind 'cause I really do see my grubby tired state as a GOOD sign that I've been PRODUCTIVE....hahahahahahaha....Wasn't SURE if this would be the case though considering I was 'talking' to the LOVELY Gina at Vintage Junk In My Trunk this morning about being 'imobilised by fear' at the amount of work I had in front of me to get ready for the SVJ-X when she asked what time it was....I replied I was embarrassed to say it was JUST AFTER 10am....In my defence though....I DID crawl into bed around 3am after working through the night on some AWESOME projects & with ONLY 12 days to go to the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza this is likely to be a pattern repeated over & over until the BIG DAY....
Needless to say....NO MARKET for me AGAIN (that's two weeks in a row now) today so no NEW Treasures however, I have a selection of goodies I've been meaning to share with you for some time....! I found all of these lovely items the day the Progress Leader newspaper came to visit camp SVJ to photograph our home & you can view the feature here....After Bianca & Josie had left, I headed off for some R&R (thRifting & haRd rubbish) & these are my finds.....!!
Another vintage calf skin purse...I NEVER pass these up when they cross my path....!!
I RARELY find nice vintage tins in the op-shops these days so this little gem was a TREAT for sure....!!
Sweet Crinoline lady tablecloth....I know my blog buddy Tamara at A Treasured Past might have liked to have found this one....!
And I NEVER EVER pass up vintage cotton sheets....I share a fondness for these PEARLS with another blog buddy, Alison over at Hill & Vale Designs....!
WOO-FREAKIN-HOOHA....Vintage ledgers NEVER used....I almost had an ACEEDENT when I spied these beauties in a local op-shop....Snapped them up faster than you can say, 'stick a needle in your eye'....hahahahahahaSNORT....!!
Do you recognise this BEAUTY....This was one of those RARE HR finds that didn't require 10+ hours of restoration....!!
Just some work done to the top, a light sand to remove oil a GOOD clean & some wax....!!
I hope to post again tomorrow night as I've been honoured with an award from the GORGEOUS Angela over at the Bounty Huntress....So stay tuned for some interesting Tamarah facts....hahahahahaha....And I PROMISE....They're NOT OCD related....P-R-O-M-I-S-E....!!!
Cheers for now,
Tamarah :o)
HEY THERE!!
ReplyDeleteLove to get your comments!!! I still can't figure out how to do a photo header... but at least my new header has a pretty font now!
I'm very impressed with the finds this week... while i was slothing on the couch you were definitely out and about this last 48 weren't you!!! :) Good luck with the continued prep for the extravaganza!!!
Tamarah, you read my mind, I do love the crinoline lady tablecloth, it is very similar to the huge table throw I found the other week. Love the ledgers, I have one too. I am using it to paste in all my fav pages from my decorating mags (country living etc).
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the lovely comments on my blog, it's nice to know that somebody is reading them :) other then my Uncle G and sister (who lives up the street)...he he
Oh, best of luck with the show, but I know you wont need it :)
see ya, I'll check back tomorrow, congrats on the award!
You know my favorite is that HR find! Looks to be in great shape and will look fabulous all cleaned and waxed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. It was curly willow on the mantel. I love it. Found it at a thrift shop. Must have been pretty fresh as she said I could root it if I wanted. I chose not to since I've been killing my plants lately.
The pictures in Progress Leader were terrific! I love those stack of suitcases with the stripes on them!
It was fun "talking" to you, even though we both had tons of work to do! And even though you were still in bed, you WERE getting work done via internet! Ok, and some shopping too, but still!
ReplyDeleteLove that HR find and can't wait for the Shabby Extravaganza. I'll be counting down the days -- even though I'll be far, far away. :(
I love the sheets you in the US always seem to find in thrift shops, we don't do those sort of sheets here in the UK wish we did, I have to make do with duvet covers for my projects.
ReplyDeleteLove the table as well.

ReplyDeleteOh Tamarah! I don't own a ledger book, so it looks like I'll be collecting them from now on. Really do wish that I was going to the SVJ extravaganza. You will have to post a bumper blog that weekend, for all of us poor souls who can't get there. Must away to make some more terriers.

Oh sheet! You found a lovely one and that sweet tablecloth. Stop teasing me with that table. I didn't get many goodies this w'end, so I'm feeling a bit down. Boo hoo! I think I'll go out now and hit an oppy or two, to make me feel better. Not long now to the big day. Yippee!
ReplyDeleteTamarah
ReplyDeleteYou sure have picked up some great goodies.
Whatever will you do with yourself once the SVJ-X has been and gone?? Will there be another!
Alison
I'm so looking forward to seeing your goodies on your blog...and I still think you have the cutest header ever...
ReplyDeleteeeeek what only 12 days to go?? Lucky I got a bit done today then, filled old photo frames, recovered a stool. Now for pricing everything (that will take some time) oh and a couple of more bits of furniture to paint. Looks like a few late nights coming up!!!
